# Introducing AI Boston.Dev, a Monthly Meetup for People Building with AI

*October 15, 2026*

MacPaw and I are teaming up to start a monthly meetup for people in Boston who build things with AI. It's called [AI Boston.Dev](https://aiboston.dev), and the first one is **Tuesday, November 10, 6:00 to 8:15 PM** at MacPaw's office in East Cambridge, near CambridgeSide. It's free.

The idea is simple. People get up, show something they built with AI, and get feedback from a room full of other people doing the same thing. No pitch decks. Bring a laptop and show the real thing running.

## Why we're doing this

A huge amount of software work now happens alongside AI. Coding agents, agentic workflows, fine-tuned models, local models running on home lab hardware. Everybody building software is figuring this stuff out in real time, and most of the good tricks get passed around in hallway conversations. We wanted a regular place in Boston to have those conversations on purpose, and to see what people are actually making instead of reading about it.

The meetup is inspired by Demo Time, the AI meetups MacPaw already runs back home in Kyiv, Ukraine. Those nights are all about builders showing real work to each other, and we wanted to bring that same energy to Boston.

## The format

Each presenter gets 5 minutes on screen, then 3 minutes of questions. That's it. It's the same format Demo Time uses in Kyiv, and it keeps things moving so you see a lot of projects in one night.

Demos can be anything you built with AI: a prototype, a side project, an agent, a research experiment, a tool you made for your own workflow, or an app that's live on the App Store. If you've been using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or any other AI coding tool to ship something, this is a good place to show it. First time presenters are very welcome.

You don't have to present. Lots of people will come to watch, ask questions, and meet other builders. Engineers, designers, founders, students, and hobbyists are all welcome, whether you're experienced or just getting started.

## The schedule

Doors open at 6:00 PM. Eat, grab a drink, meet people. There will be food, including plov, and non alcoholic drinks.

Demos start at 6:20 PM. I'll go first and show the AI pipeline I built on a single GPU in my home lab, the one that read through 400 years of historical archives and [turned up a forgotten 1812 meteorite report](https://jessewaites.com/blog/post/i-pointed-ai-at-400-years-of-archives). After that, other builders take the floor.

From 7:30 PM it's open networking, so you can corner the presenters and ask how they did it. We wrap up at 8:15 PM.

## Thanks to MacPaw

MacPaw is hosting and sponsoring. They're the software company behind CleanMyMac, Setapp, and The Unarchiver, founded in Kyiv in 2008, with a Boston office since 2023. Big thanks to them for opening up their space.

## How to come

Spots are limited, so [RSVP on Partiful](https://partiful.com/e/DRpUPAclT8ZQS4yQL7SB). The exact address and entry instructions are on the invite. The venue is close to public transit and has an accessible entrance.

If you want to present, mention your project when you RSVP. The lineup goes up on Partiful a few days before the event. If there's time on the night, you can also find a host when you arrive and ask for a slot.

And if you know someone who's building something cool with AI, bring them. See you on November 10.
